What happens when eight EU projects working on the twin transition sit down in the same (virtual) room?
Last week, we hosted a workshop with our sister projects which was led by TFC Research and Innovation Limited, and the discussion quickly moved beyond introductions into a focused, practical exchange on shared challenges and opportunities.

We heard in detail how each project is approaching inequality, rural and regional inclusion, modelling, and policymaker support and where our work overlaps. A recurring theme was the difficulty of reaching both policymakers and marginalized groups, and the importance of trust, clear language, and local intermediaries in making engagement meaningful.

What stood out from the discussion:
- Engaging stakeholders can be difficult when they are balancing multiple priorities
- Trust-building with marginalized groups and to form strong local partnerships takes time and there are no shortcuts
- Turning complex research into accessible language is just as important as the research itself
- There is strong interest in data sharing, interoperability, and aligning digital tools to increase impact
The session was particularly productive around collaboration, helping shift parallel efforts toward potential joint action. From FITTER-EU’s perspective, the exchange around sharing data outputs and connecting digital tools was a valuable step toward more coherent, evidence-based support for the green and digital transition.

A sincere thank you to ST4TE, GreenPaths Project, Twin Synergies, Women in Solidarity for Energy (WISE), TWINRD - Ecodigital Futures, Renpower, and ESIRA Project for bringing their expertise and active participation to the workshop.
We look forward to the continued collaboration.
